Grocerlist Terms of Use

1. Acceptance of Terms

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Grocerlist mobile application (“App”), operated by Grocerlist LLC. By creating an account, downloading, or using Grocerlist, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App. Continued use after updates means you accept the revised Terms.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use Grocerlist. If you are between 13 and 17, you may use the App only with permission from a parent or legal guardian.

3. Description of the Service

Grocerlist is a technology platform that enables users to discover, share, and interact with grocery-related information and content. The App allows users to compare grocery prices across stores using community-submitted data, contribute product pricing and store information, and view localized insights based on their area.

The platform also includes a recipes feature where users can create, share, and explore user-generated recipes, including ingredients, preparation steps, and related content. These features are supported by community-driven systems such as contribution tracking, rankings, leaderboards, badges, and other activity-based recognition mechanisms.

Grocerlist may display advertisements, sponsored content, or promoted listings within the App, including formats that may be integrated into the user experience.

Grocerlist operates solely as a platform for user-generated content and data sharing. We do not provide food products, professional advice, or verified pricing information, and we do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or safety of any content available through the App.

4. Account Registration & Security

To use Grocerlist, you must register with a valid email and password. You agree to provide accurate information and maintain security of your account. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

5. Account Deletion & Data Retention

You may delete your account at any time. Deleting your account removes your personal profile and lists from public view. However, previously submitted data (like product listings or store info) remains Grocerlist property and may continue to appear. We may retain your email for up to one (1) year for fraud prevention or reactivation before permanent deletion.

6. User Submissions & Ownership

By submitting content (including products, stores, prices, recipes, images, or other materials), you grant Grocerlist a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free, transferable license to use, reproduce, modify, distribute, and display your content for operational, analytical, advertising, and commercial purposes.

You represent and warrant that you own or have the necessary rights to submit such content and that your submissions do not violate any third-party rights, including copyright, trademark, or privacy rights.

6.1 Recipe Content & Food Safety Disclaimer

Grocerlist allows users to submit and share recipes, ingredients, and cooking instructions. This content is user-generated and is not reviewed, tested, or verified by Grocerlist.

You acknowledge that:

• Recipes may contain errors, omissions, or unsafe instructions
• Ingredient information, including allergens, may be incomplete or inaccurate
• Cooking results may vary and are not guaranteed
• Nutritional or dietary information is not provided or verified

You are solely responsible for verifying ingredients, cooking methods, and food safety practices. Grocerlist is not responsible for any adverse outcomes, including allergic reactions, illness, injury, or damages resulting from the use of recipes on the platform.

Grocerlist does not provide medical, nutritional, or dietary advice. Any information related to ingredients, nutrition, or food choices is for informational purposes only and should not be relied upon as a substitute for professional advice from a qualified healthcare or nutrition professional.

7. Community Rankings & Contribution Metrics

Grocerlist may track user activity including submission counts, approvals, timestamps, and other contribution-related metrics. These metrics may be used to generate community rankings, leaderboards, progress indicators, or other recognition features within the App.

Rankings are calculated using internal algorithms and may change over time. Grocerlist does not guarantee specific ranking positions or continued visibility.

Public leaderboards display anonymized or non-identifying information. Grocerlist does not publicly display user email addresses or personal identifiers in connection with rankings.

Rankings, badges, points, or other recognition features have no monetary value and do not constitute property rights.

8. Advertising & Sponsored Content

Grocerlist displays advertisements, sponsored content, and promoted listings. These may appear in various formats, including native-style content that may resemble standard app content.

Where permitted by user consent and device settings, advertising partners may use device identifiers (such as advertising IDs) to personalize and measure advertisements. On iOS devices, users may be asked to grant permission for tracking through Apple’s App Tracking Transparency framework. If permission is denied, ads will still be displayed but may be less personalized. Grocerlist does not share personally identifiable information with advertisers.

Grocerlist does not endorse, guarantee, or assume responsibility for any advertised products, services, or claims made by advertisers. Your interactions with advertisers are solely between you and the advertiser.

9. Privacy & Data Handling

Grocerlist collects limited personal information such as your email address, ZIP code, and activity within the App to provide and improve our services. This data is stored securely and used for functionality, analytics, and personalization.

We may use aggregated, non-identifiable data for insights, performance improvements, and advertising optimization.

10. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to submit false, misleading, or fraudulent data; upload copyrighted or unauthorized content; scrape or automate access to the App; attempt to manipulate rankings, metrics, or algorithms; or use the App for unlawful, harmful, or abusive purposes. Violations may result in suspension or permanent removal.

Content Moderation & Enforcement

Grocerlist may, but is not obligated to, monitor, review, or remove user-submitted content at its sole discretion.

We reserve the right to remove content, restrict visibility, or suspend accounts that violate these Terms, are deemed harmful, misleading, inappropriate, or that negatively impact the platform or its users.

Grocerlist is not responsible for failing to remove or delay in removing any content.

11. Intellectual Property & Brand Usage

All trademarks, logos, and software are owned by Grocerlist LLC. You may share screenshots for non-commercial use if you do not alter or misrepresent the brand. Commercial use requires written approval.

12. Third-Party Services

Grocerlist may include links to third-party websites or ads. We are not responsible for their content or practices. Access them at your own risk under their respective terms.

13. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability

Grocerlist is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any data, including user-submitted prices, product information, or recipes.

Grocerlist is a platform that facilitates user-generated content and does not independently verify submissions. Any reliance on information within the App is at your own risk.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Grocerlist shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages, including but not limited to loss of data, health-related issues, financial loss, or damages resulting from inaccurate information or user content.

Total liability shall not exceed $100 USD.

14. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Grocerlist and its operators against claims, damages, or losses arising from your use of the App, violations of these Terms, or submitted content.

15. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for violations of these Terms or actions that threaten the integrity of the App. You may stop using Grocerlist at any time by deleting your account.

16. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Utah, United States. Any disputes shall be resolved exclusively in the courts of Utah County, Utah. If Grocerlist relocates, this may be updated accordingly.

17. App Store Terms

Grocerlist is distributed through Apple App Store and Google Play. Your use of the App must also comply with Apple’s and Google’s respective terms and policies.

18. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms to reflect new features or legal requirements. Significant updates will be announced through the App or by email. Continued use after updates means you accept the new Terms.
